About Me:

I received an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992, and graduated with an MSW from the University of North Carolina’s School of Social Work in 2000. I have over 15 years of experience in working with and advocating for survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. While going through the early years with my children, I gained an intimate understanding of how difficult early parenthood can be. Support from other parents illuminated the importance of humor, self-care, compassion, and community in surviving this beautiful, exhausting, joyful, maddening, and heart-filling experience called parenting. I have lived in this area for 20 years. I spend as much time as possible outdoors with my family doing yoga, paddling kayaks, reading, and running.
